Regular and setting compound

Drywallers started taping my house today. First, they taped with premixed USG compound (blue) and then, immediately put on the second coat using a setting compound (USG 45). I've been told this could result in bubbles, lose tape, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this?

May want to check on the USG site on that one.
I've working on hundreds of houses and have never once seen it done that way.

it depends on how wet and thick the mud is underneath . being a taping coat is pretty tight and dries fairy quick your probably ok.

ya it can be done that way but i dont recommend it but to each their own. usually you use 45 for first coat then second you go to a premix. if theres no bubbles now then they are fine and you have nothing to worry about.
