Prime before Knockdown?

finmil Newbie   Join Date: Mar 2010 Posts: 1	Prime before Knockdown? Want to do knockdown on walls, walls are a painted panel board. Do i need to prime before since its been painted already? Someone at home depot said to put about 1 cup of Gripper paint in the dry wall compound and you do not need to prime . Has anyone heard of this. Planning on painting the wall after.

Do NOT listen to what anyone that works in the paint department at the big box stores says, they typically have as much experience as a 5 year old.
