plaster walls

I am planning on installing bead board over existing plater walls in my bathroom. Adhesive and nail gun? What gauge and length of nail/brad? Help!

Finish nails, 15 or 16 gauge, 2-1/2" long, no glue needed.

Hold on I miss read your post, I read baseboard not bead board please forgive.
I use Loc Tite Quick Grip and my narrow crown staple gun with 1-1/2 staples,
The panels need to be 1/2 up off the floor, start the first panel in the middle of the wall so there's equal cuts on the ends. Make 100% sure the first piece is plumb and level or the rest will be off.
I apply the glue in a lazy Z shape then a border 2" from the edges of the panels.
When the panels lined up in place install one fastner at the top in the middle and double check.
Then I use a hand floor roller over the whole panel to compress the glue.
The panels should only need fastners at the very top and bottom and one in the middle at the butt joint hidden in the seam.
The end pieces will need to be scribed in to fit.

The hand floor roller to compress the adhesive is a grand idea! Thanks again

Just to make 100% sure you understand, the roller is used on the clean side of the panel not over the wall with the glue out it.

Plaster walls

Very informative Thank you for posting!

I once put my foot through my parents wall when I was little. That was the hard way of learning about how to patch a plaster wall!
