[PICS] Help Patching Holes, Wall Paper, Kitchen Grease

I'm trying to surprise my mother for her birthday by fixing up her house. I have taken pictures of the things in question. What tools I would need to purchase in order to do these jobs on her house? This is a photo album with 3 pictures of the type of repairs I want to do. http://imgur.com/a/e5ojq

Sure looks like you have some serious moisture issues going on there.
Has the roof been leaking?
What type venting is there on the roof?
The tricky part is gong to be trying to match the old texture on the walls.

That water damage was from when our a/c broke down and it would build up as ice in the attic. That a/c problem has been resolved and hasn't leaked since then, but the water damage color remains. I'm hoping to just paint over it as it doesn't look like anything serious.

What I am lost to is to what do I need to buy to patch up broken drywall?

And is there a recommended spray/chemical to remove grease/clean walls?

TSP will cut the grease, strong stuff so be carefull.
Any hardware or box store will have it in the paint dept.
