Painting Plaster with Drywall patches
I am getting ready to paint my house. We fixed some spots in the plaster with brand new drywall. How do we prime the house so that the paint looks consistant? I was told that all we need is one coat of primer and one coat of paint. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One coat quality primer, two coats quality paint
Be sure the patches are as smooth as possible and feathered nicely before prime
Paint colors, it doesn't fill
If, after the primer, some obvious uneven patches appear (this often makes the "not quite" areas show up clearly), then skim some more joint compound, feather sand, wipe clean of dust, and spot prime the raw j/c areas before painting
(It will be much easier to repair any "iffy" areas before you start applying paint)
