Odd question about 6-in-1 tool and screw holes

I have the Purdy 6-in-1 tool shown below. I could have sworn I saw somewhere to use the handle end to push in the edges/paper around a small hole to make a little dimple to fill in.

I tried this on a screw hole, but it leaves a silver shine/residue where the metal rubs. Concern is this is going to prevent/hinder adhesion of the mud to that area when I'm filling the holes.

Am I being paranoid/overthinking things? Or is there a better way to clean up dozens of screw holes?

Thanks.

Odd question about 6-in-1 tool and screw holes

wayyyy over thinking things. i just use my regular knife that im using to fill the screws heads to push in screw misses and paper instead of a 6in1 but it'll totally get the job done.
