Hello. I just removed some wood paneling from a bedroom and now im left with the adhesive on the walls. The house was built in 1965 so I'm pretty sure the walls are gypsum board with a few light coats of plaster. What is the best way to get rid of the adhesive? Ive pretty much sanded most of it off of one wall with a palm sander and 60 grit paper but it is long and tedious, I didnt know if there was any chemical removers anyone would recommend. Thank You.
If it's a liquid nails type of construction adhesive, you could try a heat gun or blow dryer to soften it up and scrape it off. Then go around and patch the gouges and defects left by the scraping. If worse comes to worse, you could always go over it with 1/4" drywall.
