Looking for ideas...drywalling a clean out
I'm about to drywall my basement, and one wall has a clean out 3' off the ground.
I was going to make an access panel for it, and then make a dummy one so that the wall would look symetrical. The clean out is about a 1/3 of the way in from the adjacent wall.
Question is...how would you go about making this look presentable? For the real access, maybe throw some backing between the joists to screw the drywall too put in some hinges, then for finishing trim it with the baseboards that I will be using? Only problem I see is that it would easily pop open if I don't have some sort of locking mechanism on it...
Any other ideas? Just cover it, make some measurements where the clean out is, and hope that I won't ever have to get to it?
Cut a hole in your drywall and use something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/buy/plumbin...el-144379.html
Looks fine IMO.
