I'm looking to laminate 1/4" drywall over a cinder block wall (interior party wall) which has been plastered. I have a cracking paint issue, and would prefer not to scrape the whole wall and skimcoat. The plaster seems to be in good shape, so I don't think there's any moisture problem. Unlike previous topics, this is in a very narrow stairway, so im leary of furring the wall out and loosing more than 1/4". Is it wise to secure the drywall directly with concrete screws and joint compound troweled on? Will this hold up?
