installing gyprock and tile around tub

Does it matter if gyprock on one wall is "slightly" further out than the gyprock on the other wall? T install the tile, does it slightly overpass the gyprock to cover the edge or "lip" of the tub, (so the tile is not "completely" just on the gyprock)?

Hello Mary and welcome to the best darn DIY'r site on the web.

It is difficult to read the question you have posted. Pictures of the area in question would be very good to give us an idea of what is happening.

If read (what I can read) correctly you are going to attempt putting tile on top of gypsum / drywall. This is not a good idea and will only lead to problems down the road.

Your intro post makes it sound as if you are using gypsum products in the shower.

A shower surround should be waterproof before any tile goes up. With only one exception, gypsum products cannot be used in a shower. You might give us a rundown on what steps you are planning.
