Installing Durock Concrete backer board for tile

I need help in installing Durock backer board around my tub. Can anyone give me some advice , especially when it comes to attaching it to the wall in the vicinity of the flange.

Set the durock on the top of the flange not over it. The tile guy will fill the gap with thinset. Reason being if you set it over the flange it will curve out there which you don't want for a flat tile installation.
