How to finish drywall adjacent to garage

I have a 2x4 wood frame wall between my garage and laundry room. There are fiberglass batts on the inside and drywall on either side of the wall. The drywall on both sides is in direct contact with the concrete floor. there is no sealant along the concrete/drywall seams on either side of the wall. This wall also abuts a concrete block foundation wall.

This past Winter, I noticed a crusty surface forming on the base portion of the inside drywall. There was no water damage, but it looks like possibly salt residue has crusted onto the lower portion of the wall.

I'm wondering if we should do something differently to finish this interior wall. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike in Omaha, NE
