How far below the ceiling does this joint get finished?


just fyi: when i said "mud", i meant regular sheetrock mud. everything i know about spackle, i just read above.

How far below the ceiling does this joint get finished?


You can purchase small packages of Sheetrock 20 or 45 which dry fairly fast. Apply the mud over the screw holes in one direction and wipe off with a perpendicular stroke

Haven't seen the 20 or 45 in anything but the big bigs here but you can get the 5 minute in a small pack. Mix with cold water and you can buy a little more time.

Having said that why are you doing the nails. This will be part of the finishers job and included in the price. If you go around and use something like spackle and he has to go around and dig it all out he is going to charge you more. Same with the mud mix you get something he has problems sanding or can't sand and it could be a costly mistake In fact I know some finishers that would not do the job if you did that..
