How does one fix this?

The drywall in the house was hung vertically and with the flooding we gutted the walls to 4 feet (new open concept floorplan :P). For the most part everything worked okay but in 2 areas we have a situation where the vertical tape pulled off the upper sheet a bit when taking the bottom section out.

Think two boards together vertically and you chop the bottom 4 feet off of both of them and the tape between them has come off a bit or loosened.

Do you put some mud behind and re-seat the tape (its fiberglass) or do you yank the bugger off and retape the whole top bits. Fine either way just want to know what the correct fix is.

Thanks

Be sure to use a setting type compound for at least the first coat if you go back with mesh tape (as per mfgr. specs)...
