How covered should the joint be

1 Attachment(s)
Butt Joint (got flooded-cut lower 24").
The joint is nice and feathered. It's a combo of durabond on the base, and AP for the 2/3d. In sanding, I may have sanded it a bit too tight....it's nice and flat. I plan to just run another thin coat just to cover the tape.

How much of the tape should be hidden. Totally invisible when sanded down ? Part of the grey is tape, and part of it is just how durabond looks when dried.

you want all the tape covered if possible .

It's the edges that really need to be covered so they don't show. Ideally, all of the tape would be covered with compound, but if some of it shows after sanding it is a "paintable" surface and should not show as long as the joint is smooth and level....

Generally if you can't feel it, you won't see it after painting. Is the tape fuzzy or just exposed?
