Hot Mud vs JC for corners and butt joints
Anyone using hot mud for corners and butt joints ?
Unless I'm in a rush to get that 2nd coat on....I prefer JC for corners and butt joints. JC shrinks and pulls the paper, creating a tighter(flatter) coat - whereas Hot Mud blooms a bit... Just wondering how ya'll work with hot mud....in these applications. |

Hot Mud vs JC for corners and butt joints
I use hot mud for the first two coats on everything. Then I finish up with dust control joint compound. But I also use the ultra thin mesh tape, no paper.

Hot Mud vs JC for corners and butt joints
Yeah. Used the Fibafuse on the butt joint as well.
I just likes things tight...and JC shrinks, making it tighter IMO than Hot Mud. What are ya'll using for outside corners. I'm all on no coat and 1st bed of JC as well. Let it shrink and pull that paper in... |
