hanging blueboard on warped studs

Are there any measures that can be taken to hang blueboard on studs that are warped? Such as placing shims behind the wall, etc. Not sure if this is an accepted practice. The warped stud that I would have ot deal with is on a corner (if that makes any difference).

Can the other side of it be shimmed (for bowing out)?

I just replaced the stud, but am wondering in case I need it for a future fyi. Thanks.
