Frustrated by paper along side of drywall

I know this isn't really a serious issue, but I recently got a bunch of "toughrock" drywall. The paper that seals two sheets together on the side will NOT come off. Its glued to the paper of the drywall so good, that I cannot get it off with tearing the paper off the drywall. Does everyone just go along the side of the paper with a utility knife?

About all you can do.

It's on the backs of the sheetrock. What's the issue?

I've purchased a hand full of sheets from Lowes that had that tape on the front. It's a pain.

Sheets should be face to face for protection. I would not accept sheets with the tape on the front.

Yeah buying in large quantities I never even noticed til it was home.

Funny story about not accepting drywall... I was buying about 5 sheets of drywall at Lowes. They were piled in the typical fasion (pallet-like). The top two 'pallets' looked like they had been run into a beam, a chunk taken off every sheet about as big as your hand, half way down the sheet. I told them they needed to lift the pallets so I could pick from the good stuff and they acted all upset and said "have you ever done drywall before?" as if anybody who knew how to do drywall would accept that. Give me a break. I made them lift it all.

Anyways, sorry to hijack, but yeah... I've seen them taped incorrectly before.

No. Like ininkus said, the stuff from Lowe's is taped on both sides. Glued like crazy. It really is a pita.
