Floating Corner

I was reading a drywall book about hanging drywall for the corner of the walls. It said not to screw in the drywall in the corner and have the adjacent wall butt up against it pinching it it. Is there a purpose for this? I always thought you screw the wall in on all the ends. Anyway else use the floating corners?

The theory is that the corner can move without cracking.

Buildings will move naturally due to changes in humidity, temperature, etc.

By leaving the drywall unfastened, the corner is able to "Float".

I've seen it used on ceilings more than anything.
