Float over Topping Compound preps?

Came onto a job where the previous guys skimmed with topping before floating the walls. Since topping compound has no glue and bad bonding properties and I need to float these walls, should I a) coat all the areas with that pink plaster bonding adhesive OR b) simply prime all the walls, float, skim, sand?

Float over Topping Compound preps?

Not a lot of reply's?

liability is void here. I'd sand the piss out of it, dust it, dust it with a damp towel and then put a good coat of quality primer on it. wait a couple of days poke your wall with a nail and when you back it out the the adhesion integrity can be viewed. It should pull out without taking paint with it.
