Drywall patch strong enough to hold an anchor?

So, the drywall anchor for the toilet paper holder in the hall bathroom came loose from the wall, so I ripped it out, cut out a 3" x 3" hole, and did a paper-wings patch over it. Now I want to reinstall a new toilet paper holder, but I'm not sure if the patch is strong enough to hold the drywall anchors. Is this a good idea, or should I pick a different spot? The previous spot was ideal, which is why I want to put it back there. Thanks for any help.

You could open the hole back up and install a couple pieces of 1x3 behind the drywall and then patch it again. Then when you install your toilet paper holder it screws through the drywall and into the wood. This would give the screws a better hold and distribute the weight so it wouldn't rip out again.

Way to small a patch, it has less strenght now then before.
Not even a toggle or molly will hold it.

Well, I'm definitely not opening it back up; we're putting the house on the market in a few weeks!

I think I'll just opt for the different location, even if it isn't ideal. Thanks all for the suggestions.
