Drywall over brick

Benny1012 Newbie   Join Date: Dec 2010 Posts: 1	Drywall over brick Doing some living room upgrades and decided to cover up the brick fireplace but still having it a working fireplace. Got cement board, furring strips, drywall. Any pointers? Never tried this before. Attached Thumbnails

joeg679 Member   Join Date: Nov 2009 Posts: 205	Drywall over brick Screw the strips into the brick with tapcon screws. Then screw the drywall into the strips. Tape and sand a few times and ur done.
