drywall install


i have 9' basement walls and will be putting a drop ceiling in at 8', do i put the filler at the top were it will be hidden or do i start at the top and go down? my contractor that built the house went top to bottom in the bathroom but that has a finished drywall ceiling.

If your ceiling height is 8', you shouldn't need a filler.

agree why do you need a filler at 8'.....and if you think about it stand board up .bring drop ceiling channel one inch below top of board ..good to go ..yes finish height 7' 11"

Space above the drop cieling may have to be draftstopped depending on the type of joist construction
