Question

Drywall a couple of inches short

Hi all - I am putting up drywall on ceiling in a room thats 18'6" (across joists) by 14'2" (parallel with joists). I want to avoid butt joints if possible so was considering putting up 14' sheets (with a lift!!) and add a 2" filler strip between the end of the sheet and the wall (I will put a 8" strip of 3/4" plywood between joists so end of sheet and filler have blocking to attach to). A second options was to put up 12' sheets parallel to the joists then run a 2'2" piece across the end (with 1 butt joint - and requires better blocking). Any recomendations? Or other options?

Thanks

Hold your rock 1 inch off each end and run crown mold.

Honestly! How long is it going to take people to catch on to using "Butt Boards"?
