Drywall Compound or Spackle?

Im wondering if it is a bad idea to use drywall compound to fix small imperfections in drywall such as small holes or dents/dings? Ive been told to use spackle?

Thanks!

Drywall Compound or Spackle?

Spackle is smoother, easier to work with, and drys faster.

And comes in smaller packages than drywall compound so it is convenient for a few small holes. If you have drywall compound use it.
