Drywall in the bathroom--newbie
I am trying to learn how do repair my bathroom drywall. Next to the tub surround there was a lot of black mold under the paint. I peeled off the paint and saw that the drywall was crumbly, right where the two pieces of drywall meet. The area that has crumbled off is about the size of a cell phone. Is it ok for me to just get a drywall patch and fix it or do i need to take the drywall down and put up new pieces? Also, there is a gap between the drywall and the tub surround. Do i just fill that with caulk? I need to recaulk the tub anyways, as the last owners did a bit of a botched job.
Attached is a picture of what I'm trying to articulate!
THanks so much for your help in advance!!
I would replace that drywall. If not there's still going to be mold growing under your patch.
If you use the search funtion under drywall there's several hundred post with this exact same problum.
