Drywall Adhesive
 

I've got two rooms @ 500 sq. ft. total that have existing 3" wide firring strips on the ceiling. They were installed over plaster/lathe/joists when Armstrong tiles were put up 40 years ago. The tiles have been ripped off. Now, I'm ready to drywall the ceilings. I want to apply an adhesive onto the firring strips. My local lumber yard has this adhesive called Great STuff Pro. It is a polyurethene foam adhesive. Allegedly replaces up to 16 tubes. Has anyone used this product? It looks like the application would be less messy since the material is under pressure. Thanks.
