Dry wall replacement of plaster walls

We recently had a major fire in our home. I'm working with the insurance who has written the estimate to replace the all plaster walls with plaster, but he also said it would be cheaper to replace it with dry wall and that's OK. I wonder what the cost difference would be? For example, in one room there is 524.19 sf of 2 coat plaster over gypsum core blueboard (1/2 in). What would it cost to drywall that portion?

Dry wall replacement of plaster walls

Ask a local contractor or better yet ask your insurance adjuster. You can't get any accurate information from a place like this. The cost estimate needs to come from your local area.
