Doorframes flush with framing
I am working on a bathroom renovation project in a '70s house.
All the doorframes in my house are flush with the frames. This is not something I did - the house simply came that way.
So, when I hang my drywall, it will essentially extend past the door frame by 1/2".
Do you have any suggestions on how to finish the edges of the drywall in this particular application?
Need to add what's called jamb extensions so the sheet rock comes close to the side of the jambs not over the ends of then,
That way the casing will cover the gap between the extension and the rough framing.
Do not try and make the extension flush with the old jambs. leave about 3/16" exposure. That way there's no misaligned trim that would need sanding or filler.
