Different brands of mud on the same application?

Weird one but cannot find the answer....

Is it okay to tape with one brand and then finish with another brand? Not talking about types 90 vs all purpose - but more like taping with USG and finishing with Pro Form etc. Do different company formulations interact with each other?

Ran out of the stuff from our supplier but still have one coat to go and have another bucket of a different brand hanging round.

Can I just go over the top of the other brand with a different brand or are my walls going to turn to mush in 2 months and the house will fall down?

Makes no diff you can mix them together in one bucket if you want to.

you can put any mud over any mud you just have to makes sure you dont have any big ridges or stop/start lines because different muds are harder to sand then others and the previous coat of mud might show thru.
