cure plaster if covering if with a layer of joint compound before paint?

You are playing us. Nobody can turn the walls you show left into what you show on the right without more than a skim coat of mud.

And do not blast venetian plaster if you do not understand what it is. I think you will find the marble in it much finer than the sand you mixed into your plaster.

well, it seems that "nobody" is as good as the guy i hire to finish my drywall. cause the plaster to the right was possibly even worse looking than what's on the left, he did one coat of hot mud 20 and them blue mud.
