I planning tohange the light fittings in my living room to downlights and have the electrician do the needful...as per the electrician to put the lights in symmetry he wants to cut out newfitouts in the ceiling which leaves me to plug these old light cutouts in the ceiling... Now i need help as to what is the best way to plug these holes which are about 150mm in diameter... Whats the best way to plug these 8 holes in my ceiling

Make round pieces of drywall ---add some wood strips to the hole and screw the disks into the openings.

Add paper tape and three or four coats of drywall mud ---that's the usual way,---Mike---

If you have a drywall man available---you might wish to hire him--these ceiling patches can be difficult to do nicely.

Just use wood scraps 1x2" is a handy size.

Cut two for each hole--a little longer than the hole--say 10"

Lay them on the ceiling above the hole and add a screw to each end near the edge of the hole--

Now you have something to screw the disks to.--Mike--
