ceiling drywall got wet

If ceiling drywall gets wet due to a roof leak, will it be ok when it dries or can i expect gypsum dissipation or discoloration?

Depends on how wet it got I guess. Usually when I find water damaged drywall, I cut out the damaged section, tape, mud, prime and paint. Drywall is relatively inexpensive. In my own home I would never trust water compromised sheetrock.

All depends how much water got to it in that hour. You'll know soon enough and then you can deal with it ie. if a stain appears.
