bubble's in drywall tape

We are finishing our basement. My husband has began taping and it has air bubbles in the tape. Is there a way we can fix this w/o removing this tape and starting over?

If you apply an abundant amount of joint compound, then apply the tape and squeeze it down tight into the joint compound with a six inch knife you won't have any bubbles unless the walls are really wavy. Once bubbles show up you must remove the tape and start over.

Just cut the bubbles out with a utility knife and apply a patch of tape over the blank. OR you may be able to slice the bubble at the bottom or top and insert mud with the edge of your knife.

When taping be generous with the bed coat.
