BackerBoard not flush with drywall at seam. Request Solutions

Thanks for the forum. I've placed Durock on the shower surround. The framing is a bit off so where the cement board meets the drywall, the cement board is not flush. Rather its raised about 1/8 to a 1/4". This is only about three out of five feet. It is flush in the corners. A couple options are to use mud to smooth it out.Thanks for your feedback |

I'm assuming you are tiling over the cement board... could you find a rounded end cap that handles that distance? I had the reverse issue (CBU an 1/8th thinner than the drywall), and in my case the tile with thinset almost made up the difference.
