Next, I tested the voltage on the water dispenser connection and got 120V when the water dispenser switch was depressed, the voltage on the icemaker connection was 0V with the icemaker switch in the on (down) position. The water supply to the inlet side of the valve is in the on position with plenty of pressure. The icemaker line is not frozen.

Does anyone know where I can get a parts drawing or if I can just JB Weld the blade to the metal collar in front of it. How does this collar and blade come off?

Every evening and/or night I seem to hear a "cracking" noise. It seems to be coming from the kitchen but I never make it on time to see what it is so it could be anything. It seems to always happen in the evening, or at night when I just went to bed. But I'm gone all day and only home in the evening/night so guess this means nothing.

I'm suspecting it is the fridge doing this, has anyone heard of a fridge doing noises like this? It almost sounds like ice or glass cracking. It usually starts as a loud TICK then changes pitch and does it again a few times. I'm suspecting it may be the defrost cycle. Is that a decent assumption?

Our tap water is not exactly the most tasty, it has a chemical taste to it, mostly chlorine. I'm thinking of buying one of those water filters that goes under the kitchen sink. How good are those for making the water taste better? Are they worth it?

I've thought of getting a water cooler and just buying the jugs, but it's an annoyance to always have to go to the store to exchange bottles. I'd like something that is pretty much continuous. Right now I'm just buying small jugs at a time, but I find I go through them fairly quick.

Also I had an idea to make it so the water is always cold, I could find a solid tank that can withstand the pressure of the pipe system, then have the filtered water feed that tank, then feed a tap on the counter from that tank, kinda like a hot water heater. The tank would reside in modified bar fridge. Think this would work/be safe? Not sure what kind of tank I could use though, would have to be a pretty strong plastic or metal. Maybe I can even get my hands on one of those small hot water heaters for the tank.

My wife and I have a pretty decent stainless steel dishwasher and it is relatively quiet from the factory, rated at 54dB.

I've put my handy dandy sound level meter in front of the dishwasher as it was running and came back with similar results. The only thing that I wondered about was the bottom plate which the sound meter came back with some levels at around 75-80dB.

Is it OK to some how dampen the lower bottom plate in some way to quiet down the washer even more? Or is it even safe? I didn't know if something down low needed some breathing room or air to function safely.

Has anyone tweaked their dishwasher before and if you did, tell me what you did or used.

I have a KitchenAid gas range that came with my house when I purchased it about a year ago. Recently the oven is having trouble lighting. You can hear the ignitor "sparking" three or four times, but the oven burner doesnt catch. The oven will wait about a minute and try again. Some times the oven will light on the first try; sometimes it will light on the second, third, or forth cycle; and other times we have to use a BBQ lighter to get it started. Once the oven is on, it seems to have less of a problem re-lighting to stay at temperature. Is this a faulty igniter or another part?

The model number is KGSA906PBTOO. The part list can be found at http://www.appliancepartspros.com/pa...del_id=5152140 but I can only see the ignitor for the broiler in those diagrams.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
