Instructions

Getting Started

Step 1:
Go to the Champion’s Guild outside of Varrock and find the guild master. Talk to him about the Rune plate armor, and he will tell you to go see Oziach. Go up to Edgeville and find Oziach’s house, just west of town. Use all the conversation options with him, and he will give you a key that unlocks Melzar’s Maze.
Step 2:
Bring a lobster pot, some Wizard’s mind bomb, a piece of silk and an unfired bowl with you to Ice Mountain. Go to the top of the mountain and locate the Oracle, which is north of the Dwarven Mines.
Step 3:
Check your inventory. Your lobster pot, Wizard’s mind bomb, silk and an unfired bowl will have disappeared. Open the chest and take the map piece.

Collecting Colored Keys

Step 1:
Make sure you have an adequate supply of food and make your way to Melzar’s Maze. It is located near the Crafting Guild, just to the south. Open the door with your key. Fight giant rats until one of them drops a red key.
Step 2:
Use the red key to open the northwest door. Climb up the ladder and fight ghosts until one of the them drops an orange key.
Step 3:
Find the second door from the north and use the orange key to open it. Fight skeletons until one of them drops a yellow key. Use the yellow key to open the southwest door.
Step 4:
Climb down ladders until you come to a group of zombies. Fight zombies until one of them drops a blue key. Use the blue key to open the northwest door.
Step 5:
Defeat Melzar the Mad to get the next key, which is magenta. Open the door that leads out of that room with the magenta key and kill the Lesser Demon to get the green key.
Step 6:
Open the final door with the green key and look in the chest to get the second map piece.

Preparing for the Final Battle

Step 1:
Make sure you have a bow and some arrows or some runes and make your way to the Port Sarim jail. Find Wormbrain in his cage and shoot arrows or use magic to attack him. Once he is dead, retrieve the map piece he dropped by using telekinetic grab. Use all the map pieces together to assemble the complete map.
Step 2:
Head to Lumbridge and go to the castle. Find Duke Horacio and talk to him about the anti-dragon shield, and he will give it to you.
Step 3:
Take at least 2,000 coins, three planks, a hammer, the map and 90 steel nails and go to Port Sarim. Find the dock and talk to a man named Klarense. Talk to him until he agrees to sell you his ship.
Step 4:
Get on board the ship and go down one deck. Use your planks and nails to repair the hole. Get off the ship and head to Draynor Village.
Step 5:
Find Ned and talk to him until he offers to sail your ship to Crandor. Show him your map. He'll plan to meet you at the ship.

Slaying the Dragon

Step 1:
Make sure you have your best armor, weapons and plenty of food, and head to your ship. Go down one deck and find Ned. Talk to him and you’ll be on your way to Crandor.
Step 2:
Get off the ship once you get to Crandor and make your way up the hill. Follow the path and evade some King Scorpions and a Lesser Demon. Find the cave opening and go inside.
Step 3:
Run past some skeletons and go in the door. You’ll find Elvarq, who is a level 83 dragon, inside. Attack the dragon and eat food when you need to. Once you kill her, you’ll be transported outside of the cage. Evade the skeletons and exit the cave.
Step 4:
Make your way back to Lumbridge, and you’ll receive your reward for completing the quest.
