How to Add Inking to Scrapbooks

Hi I'm Stephanie, let's talk about inking on your scrapbook pages. Ink is one of my favorite techniques. It's something that kind of makes everything pop up in your pages. You can, inking is really simple. A lot of people are afraid of it for some reasons, but I'm not sure why because it is really simple. You can choose to ink the same color that you have. Like in this picture I've got a red background; so I can do in red or I could choose a color that I'm using like blue. On this one, I choose to use brown. Brown gives a more aged look and tends to you know just kind of give it a distressed kind of look and show up. You just carefully take the pad and just rub it along the edges. You see how it picks up the color and it just looks, it gives it kind of a messy look but at the same time, I think it's a really fun look and it'll make the picture pop up that much more off your page. For example, here's one I did where I inked. You know I inked all along the edges of the page so it makes the page stand out. I inked around all these little pattern papers, so that sets them apart and it kind of adds interest and also it doesn't overwhelm me because there's so many different paper. The ink kind of pulls them all together in that way and brings them together. You can also, another thing that you can do with ink that works out well is you just take the piece of paper that you want to ink and just crumple it up like a ball and once you open it back up, you take your pad and like gently rub it all over and it will catch the crumpled parts that you have in a nice way and make it look like now this paper looks really old. If you flatten it out, once you flatten it out and put adhesive on it, it will flatten out and that'll be nice to use a mat or something like that you see it kinds of just gives it a neat look behind it like it's older. It's inked on this side and on that and it kind of gives it a really neat distressed look. You know I use inking on everything; you can use it on tags, you can use it on the edges of your pages, on the edges of your paper and it just gives it a really bright look.
