The summer has gone by in a hurry. I've made a lot of progress on several projects that I have been working on, including landscaping and my kitchen remodel. I hope the Kitchen Remodel will be at a functional kitchen stage before Christmas.

A couple recent photos of my kitchen, the next steps are going to be to start putting some cabinets in place that we have built and to install the tile floor.

The walls are painted a orange color from the Benjamin Moore Aura Line. It is a very attractive color with a lot of character.

In this photo you can see the USG FiberRock board that I installed. It was easy to install, score and snap. With cuts around the doors and such being made easily with a sawzall. I didn't care if there were totally precise, as I was going to be filling in some small spots with floor leveling compound anyway. The only thing I didn't care for with this product is that it called for many many many staples to be put in to hold it down. There is no glue or thinset put in place between this and the subfloor, you only staple it down. However, it worked out to be roughly 300 staples per board that were required. It still takes quite a while with a air stapler to put in that many staples. (1" at the edges and 4" o.c. in the rest of the board). They were 4' x 4' sheets and were easy to handle.

That is my dog Akiva in the Photo with the FiberRock.

I'll make another post later here and share with you some of my DIY yard and landscaping projects that I have been working on this past summer.

I hope everyone here is well,

Take Care,

Jamie Dolan
