Productive Day

Posted 04-28-2010 at 09:07 PM by ChrisDIY (Chris the DIY guy vs. "The Ranch")

Had a very productive day. Went on vacation last week and returned to vigorously growing plants of all types! It took me over 4 hours to cut the lawn and also finally cut the branches that overhang and keep my ROPS from clearing. Will need to finish up with string trimmer tomorrow. I will need to figure out how to adjust my mower deck. I need to to raise it up a lot more due to all the irregular surfaces I need to cross and I broke another pin today.

Walls are all closed up and electrical...

Bamboo delay

Posted 04-11-2010 at 10:44 PM by ChrisDIY (Chris the DIY guy vs. "The Ranch")

Went to order the bamboo registers and they will take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks! I should have order them a while ago, as I am ready to finalize the kitchen wall paint. After I treat my lawn, this Wednesday, I will be closing up the walls and doing joint treatment. I think I am going to try the Durock Tile Membrane for the back-splash.

On another note I will need to paint over 150' of molding in order to finish out the doors and picture rail. Picture rail I can install but the door...

Yet ANOTHER project

Well, according to building code I will have to install an access panel into the small attic space since the height is clearly taller than 30" and greater than 30 sq. ft. ARGH!!!

Well low and behold this is actually done correctly the space above this part of the bathroom is an unconditioned space.

The plan is to install 4 recessed wet location lights here. So I have to put the insulation...

Boy! Am I tired!

Posted 03-31-2010 at 08:15 PM by ChrisDIY (Chris the DIY guy vs. "The Ranch")

Dumpster arrived this afternoon. Spent most of the day tearing up the old Kitchen floor (Pergo) and sledging the bathroom walls. I had placed all the old kitchen cabinets, sinks bathtub and the like outside so I had to move that stuff into the dumpster. Thank God for my Deere 2520 with loader!!! After tearing out some bathroom walls I found insulation in two interior walls and also insulation in the bathroom ceiling. Not sure of the original layout but doesn't look like any of the adjacent spaces...
